The vision for Backroad Wellness was born in Zanesville, Ohio by local entrepreneurs Pat and Deb Hennessey who saw a need for a new approach to medical marijuana dispensaries after seeing the benefits of cannabis in their own family.
Born and raised in Ohio, the Hennessey’s did not want their family members traveling for hours to access their medicine, or buy it from large corporate cannabis companies whose owners were disconnected from the communities they served. They saw an opportunity for something fresh with a focus on local patients and vendors, a dedication to small town values, having kind interactions with all patients, and to truly look out for everyone in our community. After winning three licenses in May of 2022, the Hennessey’s are now making this vision a reality.
